Museum of Thieves: The Keepers 1 by Lian Tanner
Move over Harry Potter! The Keepers have arrived and they are more than your equal. Goldie lives in the City of Jewel, where children are kept ‘safe’ at all costs by the Guardians. ‘Safe’ from kidnappers, deadly diseases and animals, but most of all, the children are prevented from having any form of fun.
Curiosity is not allowed and questioning is a punishable offence. Unfortunately for Goldie, she is curious about everything, so she gets into trouble a lot.
On “Separation Day” Goldie becomes a fugitive when she escapes and runs away to the strange Museum of Dunt. Someone is trying to change the order of things; the result of which could cause the destruction of Jewel. Together with a boy called Toadspit, Goldie must guard the Museum’s secrets and save the world as they know it.
Museum of Thieves – the first book of The Keepers is a fantastic adventure – full of magic and mayhem. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who seeks a new magical hero!
