A nice alternative to dystopian fantasy. Following in the tradition of Looking For Alibrandi, this is a “real life” fiction about Frankie. Frankie, whose mother is the current Victorian Premier, who is in the middle of election season, and is being trotted out as part of the ‘family package’. Frankie takes it all with good grace, as long as she is allowed  to follow her obesession with music. Everything is going about as well as it possibly can for Frankie, until her mother is photographed meeting with a younger man, a MUCH younger man, and suddenly Frankie’s life is all over the papers, online forums and youtube.

This is a nicely written, lighter read, about connections, trust and appearances.
