Goldie Roth has returned home to  the City of Jewel with her best friend Toadspit.  As a thief and a liar, Goldie was able to use her skills to overcome the brizzlehound and save the Museum of Dunt from the evil Fugelman. 

Goldie is desperate to return to the Museum as a Keeper and protector. She believes that this is where her destiny lies.   However, she feels obligated to stay with her parents in Jewel and keep her boldness in check.

But her life is about to change again.  Toadspit’s sister Bonnie has been kidnapped by child-stealers and taken to mysterious Spoke -  the city of lies.  Of course Goldie must help her best friend but she puts her own life in danger when Toadspit is captured as well and she must face the prospect that they might not survive.

With Goldie desperate to find Toadspit, the Fugelman has returned once more to Jewel.  It is only a matter of time before the Fugelman’s evil plans are realised.  Can Goldie rescue her friends and defeat the Fugelman once and for all?  This is a great adventure story full of twists and turns where things are not what they seem and lives will change forever.
