NOTE: A controversial figure for his connection to Fascism during World War II Ezra Pound's works were still highly regarded by his contemporaries. His work 'The Pisan Cantos" written in 1948 was controversially awarded the Bollingen Prize for Poetry by the Library of Congress in 1949.
