London: George Routledge and Sons, no date (1884). Small 8vo. Original illustrated green cloth with bevelled boards. Gilt. (vi, 184pp.). With colour frontispiece by Edmund Evans, title-vignette, 26 full-page plates, and some tail-piece text-illustrations. Some soiling in text, but a complete copy of what is probably the correct 1st edition. Light foxing throughout and previous owners name on front free end-paper. NOTE: The limp orange cloth issue as published in the series "Every Boy's Library", (see Muir, Vol. I: pp.462) would seem to be a cheaper, and probably a later the same year, issue. The issue here on offer is cited by Muir as "Unseen".
