This copy is not numbered. NOTE: The Waikato War between the Waikato Leader Potatau Te Wherowhero the first Maori King and the British government. In July 1863 Governor George Grey invaded Waikato after an ultimatum to pledge allegiance to Queen Victoria was rejected. The army led by Lieutenant-General Duncan Cameron consisted of 12 000 imperial troops.
