NOTE: Captain Thomas Walter White (1888-1957) of the Australian Flying Corps was captured by the Turks in November 1915 while on a flying mission in Mesopotamia. With a British Officer he escaped from near Constantinople and made his way to Allied forces in Bulgaria shortly before the Armistice.
