Paris:1955. Folio. Orig. illust. boards by George Braque. Spine re-cased retaining part of the original spine strip. (158pp.). Extensively illustrated with artwork by Braque including drawings gouaches and watercolours. Complete with all 20 full-page colour plates including original lithographs. Text in French. NOTE: Founder of Cubism alongside Picasso and leading painter of Fauvism this edition was printed at the Mourlot Freres atelier and is from George Braque's intimate sketchbooks. Braque had kept these drawings private but finally consented to having them published by Teriade for the art revue "Verve."
