With frontisp. portrait, two fold-out maps of Tierra del Fuego and Navarin Island, 13 b/w plates and 12 b/w figures throughout. Endpapers toned and light foxing to top edge, otherwise fine. NOTE: Baldwin Spencer (1860-1929), was the second director of the National Museum of Victoria, a noted biologist, photographer, anthropologist and helped transform university standards of Australian science.
