Andrew Barton 'Banjo' Paterson (1864-1941) an Australian poet journalist and author wrote lyrically about life in the Australian bush. Today his ballads including 'Waltzing Matilda' 'The Man From Snowy River' and 'Clancy of the Overflow' are inextricably linked to the Australian national identity.
