Brisbane: Qld Parl. Paper 1876. F'scap folio. As issued. (6pp). Rare. NOTE: Account of the capture of Hayes late master of the American Brig 'Leonora' by the Spanish authorities at Manila. 'Bully' Hayes was the notorious American slave trader who supplied native labour to Queensland in the 19th Century and whose adventures have been popularised by Louis Becke Frank Clune A.T. Saunders a.o. He was killed in 1877. The account here offered is probably the earliest official record of his activities.
