A good clean set with the armorial bookplates of Henry Charles Howard inside the front cover of each volume. NOTE: Sir William Temple (1628-1699) was an English diplomat statesman and essayist. He effected the Triple Alliance (1668) of England Holland and Sweden against France for the protection of Spain. His writings included essays on government gardening trade long life heroic virtue and poetry.
