Previous owners signature on half title-page. NOTE: The author was born at Bendigo Victoria in 1919. Studied art in Melbourne and after the war resumed his studies. Was appointed education officer at the National Gallery of Victoria in 1952 after which he held other positions and in 1965 was appointed director of the Auckland City Art Gallery.
