First Penguin Edition bearing the autograph of the author on half title-page. Desirable thus. NOTE: Patrick White remains the only Australian Nobel laureate. White's epic novel inspired by the tragic story of explorer Ludwig Leichhardt who disappeared without a trace in the Australian interior in 1848. Voss was the winner of the inaugural Miles Franklin Literary Award.
